Finished my cabinet and have a working Two Stroke now. It’s fantastic sounding!

The cabinet is unique in that it is made of reclaimed wood. It is all old growth virgin white pine, cut in 1870 and aged for 150 years.

So.. Just had that wood laying around for 150 years then?

    Love it. So vintage-y.

Thanks Andy. I do a lot of remodeling of old homes. I always save the stuff I rip out. It’s really fun to work with the old wood.

    Nice job, Don,
I bet that cabinet sounds fantastic. It’s amazing how much the cabinet wood colors the tone of an amp. I usually try to use dry, clear pine but that old stuff would have it beat hands down, I’m sure.

Thanks Robin: Yeah–I was wondering how much different woods do affect the sound. I figured that guitars seem to improve with age, so maybe the same would be true with the cabinet wood. I don’t have much to compare it to, but it sounds so nice I don’t know how I could improve on it. It’s really great! I sure had a lot of fun with this project. Don
