nfb switch for 2 stroke

Hey all, this is my first post on the new site (was Mewzik Man on the old forum). I’ll soon post pics of a mahogany cab I’ve been building for my 2stroke – it’s kept me too busy to start the actual amp, until now!

I’m about to start drilling the chassis, and I’m considering adding a switch to lift the negative feedback loop or vary the resistance on this circuit.
1. Has anyone experimented with the nfb loop on the 2stroke? what were the results?
2. what kind of switch will i need (heavy duty, or will any lightweight thing do)?

I’ll come full circle and reply to myself for the benefit of anyone who’s wondering about nfb loop in the two stroke:

It sounds great both ways! With the loop intact it’s tight & a bit cleaner. With the loop lifted — more dynamics! More squishy overdrive! I debated putting in a pot to get the in between shades, but I’ve decided that on/off is all I need for a great range of tones.

Nothing fancy. I just put a SPST mini-toggle between the 68k nfb resistor & the output jack. I’m at work & don’t have the layout drawing handy, but when I post some photos next week I’ll point it out. In one position the loop is complete, in the other the circuit is broken (not grounded).

Nice gutshots! I’m curious- How often do you use the NFB switch, and did you consider wiring it to a footswitch?

The NFB switch is pretty much always on (circuit is broken, i.e. no negative feedback). I like the dynamics. Then again, I flicked in back in tonight for a change & the amp tightens up & shimmers a bit more. Didn’t think of the footswitch at the time.
